Job Description:
Avalon is looking for a qualified professional to join our team for an exciting opportunity to support acquisition efforts to replace a US Air Force Command and Control system. The Avalon Principal Electrical Engineer will assist the Program Manager with the acquisition program planning and execution activities and serve to assist the Government and Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) engineers in writing and reviewing technical test acquisition documents and applicant deliverables. The Principal Electrical Engineer will assist the Government with designing test plans, identifying test facility requirements, scheduling and executing tests, writing and reviewing technical acquisition documents and contractor deliverables, as well as supporting developmental and operational tests. The Test Engineer will identify System Integration Laboratory (SIL) requirements and oversee the SIL design, build and validation/verification.
Job Summary
Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Coordinates with test facility in scheduling test times for characterization, prototype evaluation, developmental and operational testing. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years or Master’s Degree with 10 years of directly related work experience
Required Skills
BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics. Knowledge of SIL and test practices. Should have previous experience directly managing developmental, operational, and/or test facilities. Shall possess strong communication skills needed to effectively communicate complex technical matters to those who do not possess a technical background.
Preferred Skills and Education
Professional engineering knowledge and be capable of clearly articulating the technical requirements of the program and providing technical advisement to the Program Manager in the review of applicant deliverables. Capable of independently identifying and coordinating resources to achieve goals.
