Teamcenter Implementation Specialist Engineering Customization Support

Engineering User Interface Customization Support

Job Description:

  • Provide Siemens TeamCenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) application implementation support and assistance application for users implementing an Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) and related engineering processes and functionality into the TeamCenter PLM system.
  • Support the development and implementation of this engineering functionality within the TeamCenter PLM application as well as facilitate improvements in configuring this functionality, data and user interfaces to ensure the system meets ASIP data requirements and is usable by end users.
  • Research AF implementation policy and processes for the affected support area.
  • Research and interact with affected engineering, maintenance or logistics personnel to understand how these policies and processes are implemented in a practical, “real-world” use scenario and to map the actual business processes used.
  • Interact with PLM leadership to understand existing PLM capabilities previously developed, why the capability was implemented the way it was, what additional capabilities being implemented (present, near term and long term) that may affect any functional capability and how it might be implemented.
  • Develop lists of PLM functional improvements needed to meet: AF policy and process needs; user input; new functional requirements or gaps in capability based upon implemented new functional requirements in these areas and user and policy needs.
  • Develop new, or update existing, functional specifications, design specification and test scripts necessary to meet policy and/or user requirements using established templates.
    • Support personnel should have a good understanding of TeamCenter OOTB architecture/BMIDE capabilities, objects, relationships, etc. to be able to support defining workable and highly useful functional, design and test documentation.
  • Help prepare preliminary architecture (system diagrams and flowcharts, proposed objects, relationships, attributes, etc.) for development of the architecture and initial testing of functional requirements prior to handing over solution to PLM administration staff for implementation into AF PLM Development, Test and Production servers.
  • Ability to prototype and demonstrate the above-mentioned objects and functionalities in a TeamCenter environment.
  • Prepare test and training materials for testing of any of this developed functional capability by a User Acceptance Team using the Test server environment
  • Support or provide training to users on the new functionality.
  • Assist the PLM administration staff to transition functionality from each server (DEV, Test, Training, Production) in the form of testing and technical consulting on the functionality and architecture implications of the transition to make sure it is functioning and useable for the users at each transition.
  • Assist the PLM administration staff when upgrading the PLM software (regression testing) to ensure existing developed functionality still meets its requirements after upgrade.
  • Support implementation of the TeamCenter Active Workspace interface environment within the TeamCenter PLM environment. Hardware has already been purchased to allow this transition, but requires dedicated resources to analyze, plan and implement the transition to this new interface.
  • Support PLM Implementation personnel, Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) PLM Capability Initiative efforts and users to implement a transition of present TeamCenter Rich Client and Thin Client interfaces to TeamCenter Active Workspace interfaces where appropriate. Examples of existing user interfaces that will need evaluation and transition are: Engineering Change Processes (ECN, ECR, TERB, CCB, etc.), 202 Process, 107 Processes, Technical Order Change Processes (AFTO 252, Form 873, 874, 875s), LRDP Processes (List Of Material/Dev-Pacs), Supply chain Interfaces (Engineering Data Management Office Processes, Screening processes (761/339)). Analyze the present user interfaces and determine which would require transition to the Active Workspace interface.
  • Propose changes to the interfaces to best meet the processes, use cases and Siemens TeamCenter best practices.
  • Develop detailed implementable solutions for the user interfaces of the TeamCenter PLM installation.
  • Assist AF personnel to implement solutions within the AF environment. This task shall require documentation of all implementable solutions revising the current TeamCenter PLM Software Requirements Specification and TeamCenter PLM Software Functional Specification.
  • Revise the current TeamCenter PLM Software Verification & Validation (V&V) Plan, a Software V&V Report and/or User Documentation. Plan for revision of additional documentation in the form of TeamCenter PLM Software V&V Plan, TeamCenter PLM Software V&V Report, and TeamCenter PLM Software User Manual.
  • Prepare changes to the Data Exchange Specification that documents these changes. Provide the results of these efforts to the AFMC PLM CI team to assist development and transition of the AF to an enterprise PLM solution. TeamCenter changes will be proposed and implemented in the context of existing Configuration Control Board (CCB) procedures.
  • Requires extensive face-to-face communication with on-site government and contractor personnel to work ongoing issues. Working these issues will often require side-by-side, hands-on interaction at a workstation to determine if the proposed technical solutions are meeting requirements and is expected to occur frequently on an essentially daily basis.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Five (5) years’ direct experience with implementing TeamCenter and its related modules within either a production or maintenance environment with a special emphasis on tracking serialized components.
  • The candidate shall maintain skills needed to provide advice, assistance and instruction to AF personnel in the use and implementation of this PLM software within the AF environment using the latest available techniques and PLM constructs for each assigned person.

US citizenship is required due to a requirement associated with access to restricted aircraft weapon system maintenance technical orders/data and repair information.
